Launch of the new Toyota Camry Hybrid in Singapore:A breakthrough drive like no other

SINGAPORE– Borneo Motors announced the launch of the New Toyota Camry Hybrid in Singapore. First unveiled in Europe last December, the New Toyota Camry Hybrid sets new benchmarks for a luxury sedan. Perfectly marrying undeniable comfort and unprecedented performance with the new 2.5L self-charging hybrid powertrain, the New Toyota Camry Hybrid delivers a breakthrough drive experience unlike earlier generations of Camrys.
REFINEMENT EVOLVED, SUSTAINABILITY INVOLVED

With more than 20 years of creating pioneering hybrid electric vehicles like the Prius since 1997, Toyota remains committed to achieving carbon neutrality. With the goal of establishing a full line-up of electrified vehicles that reduce CO2 emissions by 2025, Toyota adds another familiar choice to the hybrid line-up, the New Toyota Camry Hybrid.
NOT YOUR AVERAGE CAMRY
The New Toyota Camry Hybrid maintains the sophisticated elegance of a Camry luxury sedan while marrying that with the performance advantages of a Toyota’s signature hybrid efficiency. The latest generation Camry is also a product of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA)* design and engineering philosophy. TNGA places enthusiast-oriented ‘fun to drive’ characteristics and alluring styling on an equal footing with excellent build quality, reliability and safety in the New Toyota Camry Hybrid.
THE MOST POWERFUL CAMRY YET
Featuring an impressive 2.5-litre Dynamic Force Engine and Hybrid System, the New Toyota Camry Hybrid delivers a quality blend of performance and efficiency. The engine produces impressive power and torque alongside excellent fuel economy, and a supremely quiet drive made more tranquil by superior sound insulation that reduces road and wind noise.
SPORTY ON THE OUTSIDE, REFINED ON THE INSIDE

On the exterior, the New Toyota Camry Hybrid features a powerful stance and captivating style. The aggressive, wide stance with a low roofline catches eye, while the sporty accent complements the Camry’s sleek yet bold contours. Styling boundaries are further pushed with sporty front bumper and rear spoilers, 18” aluminium rims and dual exhaust pipes in the New Toyota Camry Hybrid Elegance model. On the interior, the New Toyota Camry Hybrid features a refined cabin that combines elegant design, the finest materials, and spacious comfort in both front and rear seats. Elegance is further enhanced with leather stitching on the steering wheel, shift lever and knob and seat cover in the New Toyota Camry Hybrid Elegance model.
SMARTER AND SAFER
The New Toyota Camry Hybrid also features the Heads-up Display, Blind Spot Monitor System, and Toyota Safety Sense, as a suite of advanced safety fixtures that offer a greater peace of mind while driving. The Heads-Up Display is an innovative Toyota feature that enables drivers to project vital vehicle information on the windscreen. With key vehicle information floating virtually, almost like a hologram just on top of the dashboard, drivers minimise taking their eyes off the road – leaving them free to focus on getting to their destination safely.

The Blind Spot Monitor System alerts drives to the presence of vehicles that may have entered the blind spot on either side of the vehicle, helping to make lane changes safer. Toyota Safety Sense is a sophisticated suite of integrated active and cutting-edge safety systems helps drivers avoid a wide range of common accident risks through driver information, early warnings and, when necessary, automatic braking and steering intervention. The New Toyota Camry Hybrid comes equipped with the following Toyota Safety Sense features: • Pre-Collision System o The Pre-Collision System uses a camera and laser to detect other vehicles in the road ahead. When the possibility of collision is detected, the driver is alerted with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance is activated. If the driver fails to brake in time, the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision. • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) o The innovative Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) allows the convenience of setting a vehicle cruise speed across a wide range. o In addition to maintaining a set cruise speed determined by the driver, the system also has a vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode that utilizes a millimetre wave radar sensor, camera sensor, steering sensor, and a yaw rate sensor to maintain a suitable distance from the preceding vehicle. o With the addition of the camera sensor to the system, it can detect the vehicle size of the preceding vehicle as well as line recognition painted onto the road. This helps to not only ensure enhanced system accuracy, but also aids with path detection, preceding vehicle recognition and the detection of a vehicle should it cut into the lane between the New Toyota Camry Hybrid and the preceding vehicle it was following. o In heavy traffic, it maintains a pre-set following distance, slowing when it shortens and accelerating back to original cruising speed when the road clears. • Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) o When Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is enabled and lane markers are visible, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) uses the lines on the road and preceding vehicles to help keep the vehicle centered while also displaying the vehicle's position on the Multi-Information Display (MID) screen. This system was designed to reduce strain on the driver and increase convenience. • Lane Departure Alert (LDA) o The Lane Departure Alert (LDA) system detects white or yellow-coloured painted lane markings while simultaneously determining the position of the vehicle within the lane using a camera sensor. o The system then provides the driver with audible and visual warnings (vehicle positioning warning image shown in the MID). • Automatic High-Beam (AHB) o The automatic high beam driver support system is designed to help drivers see more of what is ahead at night-time without dazzling other drivers. o When enabled, AHB uses an in-vehicle camera to help detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, then automatically switches between high and low beams as appropriate to provide the most light possible and enhance forward visibility. By using high beams more frequently, the system may allow earlier detection of pedestrians and obstacles. • Emergency Steering Assistance o The emergency steering assistance system helps support the driver when there is a possible collision risk with a pedestrian or vehicle in the car’s lane of traffic, and they have to swerve to avoid an impact. The system provides additional steering torque to enhance vehicle stability and prevent the car from leaving its traffic lane. • Intersection Turn Assistance o The intersection turn assistance system helps detect an oncoming pedestrian crossing the intersection the vehicle is about to turn into, or if there is a risk of the vehicle moving across the path of oncoming traffic. When detected, the system will sound an alert, and if the driver fails to respond, applies automatic emergency braking. This helps avoid the common risk of colliding with another vehicle or pedestrian when making a turn at an intersection.
